Acrylic Plastic Glass

Product Reference Code: ACRYLIC

Acrylic is a good quality, lightweight and shatter-resistant glazing material. Ideal for the larger frame or where safety is a consideration.  Requires some care in handling, but small scuffs can be polished out.  Available with UV filter and or scratch-resistant coating as specialist products.

Available in..

  • Loose sheets - where stock holding is required to be kept to a minimum
  • Packs - for the volume user, offering maximum value for money.
  • Cut to size - let us cut, wrap and deliver your glass ready for the frame.

Extruded Acrylic - As the name suggests is made by forcing molten plastic through a dye/rollers to the required thickness. It is the softest and least optically clear of the acrylics.

Cast Acrylic - Made by pouring molten plastic into a mould. It is harder and more optically clear than Extruded Acrylic.

Diffused Reflection Acrylic - Has a lightly diffused surface on one side and is very useful as it can be used in larger sizes than it's glass equivalent. An added benefit is the 99% UV protection.

Clear UV Acrylic - These are acrylics where UV absorbers have been added to the polymer at the time of manufacture.

Art-Shield (TM) - This is a UV acrylic that has had a hard coat added to both sides which makes it much more resistant to scratching than normal acrylic.
