Crescent SELECT Conservation mountboard is the right solution for your requirements if you are looking for a conservation mountboard for the framing of fine art prints, limited editions, valuable documents and photographs. The mountboard is manufactured from 100% alpha cellulose, which is extracted from wood through a chemical process. The lignin is then removed almost completely by oxygen delignification. The residual lignin is buffered with calcium carbonate, which neutralises the lignin in the long term and causes an alkaline pH value of 8.0 - 8.5. The core of the boards varies according to aesthetic tastes. Each core colour is created through a specific process. Select boards are made of bleached cellulose and will therefore not discolour and yellow over time. Select Metals black core boards are made from pigmented cellulose.
