Q-Are all your plain wood mouldings suitable for staining?

A-Yes. On hardwood mouldings such as Oak or Beech it is better to use a spirit based dye. Liberon Spirit based Dye is designed to penetrate deeply into hardwoods.For softer woods such as Obeche use a water based dye. Liberon Palette wood dyes are designed to minimise grain raising.

Tip

To stop pastels leaving residue on the mount use strips of 3mm foam core between the art work and the mount, this creates a small gap for any residue to escape.
