Tips & Hints - Question's & Answer's

Q-Are all your plain wood mouldings suitable for staining?

A-Yes they are. On hardwood mouldings such as Oak or Beech it is better to use a spirit based dye. Liberon Spirit based Dye is designed to penetrate deeply into the closely knit pores of hardwoods.
For soft woods such as Obeche use a water based dye. Liberon Palette wood dyes are designed to minimise grain raising.

Q- Is there any special material I can use to keep my photographs glossy when i dry mount them?

A- Yes, the product is Overlay Foil code no A2189. A clear high gloss acetate foil that has been traditionally used to cover glossy photos during mounting to maintain the gloss.

Tip

To stop pastels leaving residue on the mount use strips of 3mm foam core between the art work and the mount, this creates a small gap for any residue to freely fall.
